Melissa Cronshaw of Melissa’s Bees

MELISSA’S BEES was established to offer services and assistance to the general public, pollinators, and fellow beekeepers. With a Master's degree in Education, my emphasis focuses on revealing the marvels of nature while nurturing deep and meaningful personal connections. Rooted in the philosophy of treatment-free natural beekeeping, my focus lies in fostering the vitality of bee colonies and their interconnected ecosystem. Without resorting to chemical interventions, I employ natural methods to enhance bee health, allowing robust colonies to naturally yield surplus products for communal sharing.

Carpinteria Public Library

Carpinteria Woman's Club Hosts Jody Thomas and Dr. Amber Kaplan

The Carpinteria Woman's Club is excited to announce the return of Jody Thomas, City Librarian for the Carp Public Library. Jody will be joining us in a community meeting to provide an update on all the exciting things happening at our beloved library - the place we turn to for inspiration, learning and relaxation.

But that's not all! We are delighted to have Dr. Amber Kaplan, Carp Community Library Advisory Commissioner, on hand to facilitate input on what the community wants from their new library.

As a community, we are encouraged to start thinking about our responses to the Carpinteria Library Assessment Preliminary Questions. These are some of the questions we should keep in mind:

  • What has been our experience/our organization’s experience in interacting with the community library?

  • What role do we see the library playing in the community that our organization helps serve?

  • Is there anything else we would like to share?

We are looking forward to seeing all of you at the meeting! As always, feel free to bring along friends, a dish, and/or a bottle to share.

We really cannot do it all without your help. We meet the second Wednesday of every month, with summers off, and hold an annual holiday gathering in early December.
