The Age-old Art of Print Making, Feb 8 at 7pm

The Carpinteria Woman’s Club invites you to join us for an evening of artistic expression with artist, teacher, and fellow member, Janey Cohen

Wednesday, February 8 at 7 pm at the Clubhouse located at 1059 Vallecito.

Janey is excited to teach us all how to create and carve a design onto a unique rubber plate, then print our original artwork onto cardstock, making beautiful greeting cards for Valentine’s Day or any occasion. No prior experience is needed. You will be able to take home your rubber stamp and several cards printed in a variety of colors. You can use your stamp again and again to create cards, gift-wrap, fabric, etc. All materials will be provided.

Wear old clothes and bring a smock or apron. The presentation is free of charge. Please bring a sweet or savory Valentine’s dish or a bottle of wine to share.

Janey Cohen has been a local teacher for the past 38 years and after retiring from the classroom has found time to rediscover the artist within. She is currently focusing on the medium of watercolor, and you can see images of her work at her website-in-progress  at www.janeycohenart.com. She is a member of the Santa Barbara Art Association, and is actively involved with the Carpinteria Arts Center.
