The 2019 Merit Award from the Carpinteria Woman’s Club is presented by Mary Beth Carty to TERRI SIMBER. 

Described as being kind hearted and having a generous spirit, Terri greets all challenges with a big smile and willingness to help.  Among many other local organizations, Terri volunteers for all Woman’s Club events including Adopt A Family and Cocktails for A Cause.  She is always available at meetings and volunteers at work days.  The Club appreciates Terri’s long list of involvement and value her as a friend and consummate volunteer.

Congratulations to Terri Simber.  This is her 2nd Merit Award tonight!

The Carp Chamber Merit Award for 2018 is proudly bestowed upon Janey Cohen.

Janey is a bubbling, energetic brew of teacher, artist and consummate community volunteer. She has been a long-time supporter and could very well be the poster girl for the Club’s mission to promote the arts, education, community action and philanthropy.

She has delivered perfectly executed, popular art workshops to Woman’s Club members several years running. She has actively participated in the Adopt A Family holiday program for many years, and took on a leadership role last year. This year she is the little engine behind the Adopt A Family program! Janey and her husband Tim were terrific contributors to the 2017 Cocktails for a Cause fund raiser, which helped a local artist who lost most of his life’s work in the Thomas Fire. Janey is using her retirement to serve her community, and is one of Carpinteria’s biggest and brightest treasures. Thanks, Janey Girl!
