Morgan (Mo) and Jocelyn (Jo) both earned their Master’s degrees in Coastal Marine Resource Management from the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at UC Santa Barbara. Following graduation, they each spent a year working in government agencies to gain experience in marine policy. During this time, they learned about the California Coastal Trail and decided to through-hike the trail in the summer of 2016 to raise awareness about the need to complete the CCT, and celebrate the 40th year anniversary of the Coastal Act.
They will be receiving funding support from the State Coastal Conservancy through an Explore the Coast grant, as well as logistical support from the California Coastal Trail Association, Coastwalk California, California Coastal Commission, and California State Parks.
